After years of recording together, Keb’ Mo’ and Zach Allen have finally written a song together. The result “They Don’t Make ‘Em Like They Used To” is the lead single off of Keb’s new acoustic album “The Breakdown.” You can listen to the song on Spotify by clicking here. The song had a very interesting origin which Allen details below.
“ “One day while laughing about our Grandmother’s and Mother’s and the idea came about that they don’t make them like they used to. I sat on this title for probably 8 or 9 years before I had the opportunity to pitch the idea to Keb. The challenge with a title like this is you don’t want to alienate the modern woman but rather celebrate ALL women. I had a pretty good jump on the song but Keb took the frame work and made it a thousand times better than I could have on my own. This is definitely a major highlight in my career and am beyond honored to have penned this with one of my best friends.””
